Meeting has defined 2025 strategies to attract investments in Itapocu Valley and Northeast regions of Santa Catarina
Investing Santa Catarina (ISC) and InvestSC, jointly with the Departments of Economic Development and Innovation of Joinville, Jaraguá do Sul, Araquari, Guaramirim and Garuva, have held on Feb 27, 2025, at Ágora Tech Park, a meeting to define the strategic actions for 2025 to attract and facilitate national and foreign investments for the towns of those regions, Itapocu Valley and Northeast of Santa Catarina, Brazil.
The union of efforts between the Government of the State of Santa Catarina, by InvestSC, the official agency for promoting and attracting investments, and the towns Vale do Itapocu and Northeast regions of Santa Catarina is “fundamental to enhance our capacity to attract investments to the State, in general, and to the region, in particular”, states Renato Lacerda, CEO of InvestSC. Lacerda adds: “We are working hard to create an even more attractive business environment.” "And for this, it is important that we unite the state and municipalities, by aligned strategies.” "This meeting was another important step with the aims to consolidate Santa Catarina as the main investments destination in Brazil.” Says Maysa Fischer, CEO of Investing Santa Catarina.

Attracting investments is one of the pillars for sustainable growth in all macro regions of the State, emphasizes Director of Investment Attraction Rodrigo Prisco Paraíso, of InvestSC: “In a constantly changing global economic scenario, the ability to raise resources and foster partnerships becomes essential to guarantee local progress.”
Secretary William Escher, SED Joinville, adds: “Collaboration between the municipalities will allow a rich exchange of experiences and successful practices, strengthening a more attractive environment for investors." Secretary Barbara Aguilera, SED de Garuva, has commented: “The strategic location of the municipality, in connection with other States and Itapoá Port, favors logistics for the economic agents”. Secretary Thiago Sarmanho, of SED Jaraguá do Sul, highlights the strength of the technology-based industry and the associative movement in the municipality: “In 2023, the public authorities, together with entities of the private sector, have structured the Economic Development Committee, with the purpose of promoting economic development, ensuring greater legal security to attract investments through connections between municipal agents”.
He affirms that the region has cities with different characteristics and attributes: "The greater our integration and collaboration is, the more effective our actions will be in attracting investments.” Secretary Londry Turra, from the Araquari SDE, said: “The industrial sector has gained prominence in the town with more than 5 thousand local enterprises, including multinational companies”. "Another aspect that enhances Araquari's expansion is its privileged location: it is close to ports, airports, highways and railways.” And Eduardo Dietrich Zimmermann, SED Guaramirim, highlights: “The municipality will experience disruptive economic development in the coming years, with: strategic and technical management, partnerships with entrepreneurs in the region, innovation and exports.” Jonas Krüger, Chairman of ISC Board, concludes: “The expertise in services provided by ISC, in the one stop shop model, was explained as leveraging interaction with investors, facilitating dialogue and attractiveness between public entities and the private sector so that the investors’ project can be successfully implemented”.
